Regulated Rate Option (RRO)

If you have not entered into an energy contract, you are on the regulated rate option (RRO).

July 1, 2006, the new Regulated Rate Option (RRO) came into effect whereby it would change in phases from 2006 to 2010. During this 4 year period, the RRO will be a blend of hedges and monthly forward pricing until 2010, whereby, there will be a full 100% monthly forward pricing. The fourth phase began July 2009 to June 2010, whereby the RRO is based on 20% hedge and 80% monthly forward pricing. Effective July 1, 2010, the RRO is 100% based on the spot market price; the RRO rate will continue to fluctuate.

Battle River Energy Division administers the RRO service on behalf of Battle River Wires Division.
